During the celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, US President Donald Trump dedicated a significant portion of his speech to the fight against communism, asserting that this ideology is allegedly gaining strength within the country again.

This was reported by The New York Times.

Late in the evening on Saturday, July 4th, speaking on the National Mall in Washington, the American leader emphasized that the United States had already defeated communism in the past and is prepared to do so once more.

“The Stars and Stripes [meaning the USA] have already sent the hammer and sickle [symbol of communism] into oblivion, and we will do it again if necessary,” Trump declared.

According to the US President, communism has recently been “raising its ugly head” precisely in America.

Trump described this ideology as the complete opposite of American values and compared it to a “cancerous tumor” that needs to be excised immediately.

“We will never become a communist country. We do not want communists in our country,” stressed the head of the White House.

During his address, he also expressed gratitude to veterans who participated in wars related to confronting communist regimes, particularly on the Korean Peninsula and in Vietnam.

Recently, President Trump, elected from the Republican Party, has been increasingly using the term “communists” to refer to his political opponents from the Democratic Party.

It is worth noting that during his recent speech near Mount Rushmore, Trump labeled Democrats as the “Communist Party,” continuing a rhetoric where ideological confrontation plays an increasingly significant role in US domestic political struggles.
