Iran has agreed to dispose of its highly enriched uranium as part of ongoing negotiations with the US aimed at reaching a peace accord.

This information was reported by CBS News, citing a senior official from the Trump administration.

According to him, the finalized agreement would also involve Iran unblocking the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the US lifting its blockade of this waterway, as well as US concessions on easing sanctions if Iran agrees to compromises on the uranium enrichment issue.

He added that the finalization of the agreement’s details is still in progress, and noted that Iran appears more disposed to compromise than before the military campaign began.

Furthermore, the official stated that the agreement would not entail any regime change, emphasizing that the Trump administration would deal with the current Iranian government.

Against the backdrop of this news, Donald Trump’s gesture of publishing on his social media platform Truth Social the assurance from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that his country does not seek nuclear weapons became notable.

Concurrently, the Iranian agency Tasnim reports that not all issues have been resolved during the negotiations, particularly concerning the return of Iran’s frozen assets.

Consequently, the deal could still fall apart, and Iran asserts it will not deviate from its red lines.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump previously stated that any agreement with Iran depends solely on his decision and claims that Washington will not rush the negotiations.
