The Kremlin asserts that the current White House administration is preoccupied with other international challenges. Consequently, Ukraine is not currently a primary focus for the United States of America.

This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

The representative of the “Führer” boasted about the communication channels between Russia and the US. He suggested that Moscow is “receiving signals” about Washington’s readiness to resume its mediating role in negotiations concerning the war in Ukraine. However, according to Peskov, the Donald Trump administration is currently concentrating on the escalating situation in the Middle East.

“We continuously receive signals that the Americans remain prepared, once their current issues ease, to continue offering their mediation services,” stated the Kremlin representative.

Peskov also commented on the possibility of increased American sanctions against the Russian Federation. The Kremlin emphasizes that they are “carefully listening to, recording, and analyzing statements” concerning sanctions pressure emanating from Washington, and will evaluate them based on “further developments.”

As a reminder, Dmitry Peskov previously stated that Russia allegedly remains “open to achieving its goals through political and diplomatic means.” At the same time, he traditionally shifted the responsibility for the continuation of the war onto Ukraine, accusing it of unwillingness to end the hostilities. Peskov urged the US to influence Kyiv to, in his words, cease attacks on Russian infrastructure.
