Cooperation between the United States and Ukraine in intelligence sharing has significantly improved after a brief pause in the spring of 2025.

This is reported by Politico.

As the publication notes, following an unsuccessful meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, the White House temporarily suspended the transfer of intelligence. Since then, cooperation has gradually resumed and has now reached a significantly higher level.

Senator Mark Warner, a senior member of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, stated that the situation has noticeably improved.

“I don’t want to get into specifics, but the situation has improved. This, combined with, I believe, a truly smart strategy of using long-range drones, has significantly improved the Ukrainians’ position,” he said.

Warner’s assessment was supported by Republican senators John Cornyn and Roger Wicker. According to Cornyn, the intensification of intelligence sharing is evident.

“It certainly appears to be the case. Everyone likes winners, and it looks like Ukraine has turned the tide,” he noted.

Democratic Senator Tim Kaine also shared that during his visits to Ukraine in 2025 and 2026, he observed a significantly higher level of trust in the interaction between the parties.

Experts interviewed by Politico also confirm that cooperation has essentially returned to its peak level.

George Barros, Director of Open Source Intelligence at the American Institute for the Study of War, emphasized that intelligence sharing has become one of the key factors in increasing the effectiveness of Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure.

“These strikes have been extremely effective, and they only became much more effective starting in 2025, with the arrival of the new Trump administration, when intelligence sharing began, helping the Ukrainians obtain better quality information to enhance the effectiveness of their strikes,” he explained.

Barros also recalled that American early warning systems have been helping Ukraine receive advance information about the preparation of Russian missile attacks since the beginning of the full-scale war.

In turn, former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst noted that Washington also benefits from cooperation with Kyiv.

“There is no doubt about the following: Ukraine possesses outstanding intelligence data on Russia,” he emphasized.

Earlier, it was reported that the new sanctions law named after Senator Lindsey Graham is expected to hit Russia’s economy and energy sector hard.

We previously informed that despite being the main geopolitical rivals of the US, Russia and China have become new unconventional partners for the FBI in combating cybercrime, drug trafficking, and international fraud.
