In Florida, USA, a domestic quarrel in a supermarket parking lot ended in a homicide. A woman fatally shot 62-year-old retired Army Staff Sergeant Bart Diguilio after an argument over a car spot.

The incident occurred on June 30 near a Walmart store in North Lauderdale. According to law enforcement, a conflict erupted between the veteran and an unidentified woman. Witnesses captured the event on video: the footage shows a couple arguing, and the woman already holding a pistol.
At one point, Diguilio walked around the car and approached his opponent, after which she shot him in the abdomen. The man was hospitalized but died from his injuries. One of the witnesses told reporters that he heard the beginning of the dispute.
“I was approaching and heard a woman screaming. She was shouting and saying a lot of things,” he noted.
The woman who fired the shot remained at the scene. She claims she acted in self-defense and is currently cooperating with the investigation. Law enforcement confirmed that the cause of the tragedy was a parking-related dispute.
The family of the deceased is shocked by the event and denies that Bart could have behaved aggressively. According to relatives, the man had three children, previously worked as a trauma nurse, and was a deeply religious person.
“I just don’t think anyone deserved to lose their life over a parking spot. He was a good man. My dad is not that kind of person. He’s not perfect, but he’s not someone who would go to such extremes,” said the deceased’s daughter, Amanda.
The deceased’s sister also highlighted her brother’s positive qualities in a comment to journalists.
“He was a Christian and a very good person and would not harm anyone,” she stated.
The police are continuing their investigation. The collected case materials will be handed over to the state prosecutor’s office, which will make the final decision on pressing criminal charges against the woman.
