Successful strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russia have positively influenced the Trump administration’s stance towards Kyiv.

The attitude towards Ukraine within the administration of US President Donald Trump has noticeably shifted. Specifically, successful operations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front lines and long-range strikes into Russia have played a role.
This perspective was shared by Serhiy Kyslytsia, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President, in an interview with “RBC-Ukraine.”
According to him, the achievements of the Ukrainian military have made a “very powerful impression” on Washington and contributed to a notable change in the White House’s position.
“What the Armed Forces are doing today, the situation on the front, as well as successful strikes deep into the territory of the Russian Federation, are making a very strong impression on the administration in Washington,” Kyslytsia stated.
He characterized Americans as a nation with a unique psychology, both individually and collectively, as they are drawn to success and tend to support those who are successful.
At the same time, Kyslytsia noted, Moscow had previously been quite successful in promoting a narrative in America that capturing the rest of Donbas was merely a matter of time.
“American negotiators warned us that if you cannot or do not wish to agree to the terms on the negotiation table, then keep in mind that the ceasefire terms might be dictated not by the outcome of negotiations, but by the results of combat operations. For example, they might take Donbas, and then new conditions would emerge,” Kyslytsia explained.
Flattering Statements from Trump
During the NATO summit, the American leader remarked that he and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “developed a good relationship – from the Oval Office until now.” Trump also described Ukraine as a “great country” populated by “strong people.”
Speaking about Zelenskyy, the US President expressed that “he will build a great country.” He also pointed out that Washington has a vested interest in Ukraine: “We have a small stake in this country now, because we have land in it.”
Furthermore, Trump spoke warmly of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, General Pavlo Pavlyuk, calling him “one of my favorite soldiers.” He stated that the brigadier general “is doing a great job, a great hero.”
